This was a delight -- Wes and Jon were both incredibly good (Wes's hair was PERFECT, like that guy at Trader Vic's), with Morgan Fisher's piano boogie a most wonderful addition. We heard some of JWH's old and new songs--from the album he's recorded with Minus 5, but won't be out for a while yet--and Jon's Songs from the Year of Our Demise, along with the stories that made them. Super Deluxe did a reverse staging, with the audience on risers and the performers on the floor, so Jon felt impelled to play from the top of one riser at one point, much to the surprise of the guy who lost his seat... many more great moments, the Beatles/Fleetwood Mac/Dylan medley at the end was tremendous fun.
Really glad I got the chance to go -- this will be a special week of music in Japan, go hear them!

十数年ぶりにLiveに出かけました。Wes、Jon共に素晴らしかったです。ゲストのMorgan Fisherって元Mott the HoopleのPianist？Ian Hunterの新作もカッコいいですよね。青森まで帰らなきゃならなかったので日曜の渋谷タワーレコードに行けなかったのが残念。金曜は仕事を休んで大阪までWesを追っかけます。Backstageで我々夫婦のためにSinger's Requestを演ってくれるんでしょうか？貴重な機会を与えて下さったTaddさんはじめスタッフの皆様に心から感謝いたします。J0(h)nがこれからも活躍しますよーに。
