Dylan, Springsteen Prep New CDs
ディランはレコーディングにとりかかったところ、という状況のようですが、ブルースは
既に全米発売日が４月末に決定しています。
ブルースは半月前ほどから噂で流れていた通り、初めてのカヴァー・アルバム。
「The Seeger Sessions」というタイトル通り、フォーク界の大御所ピート・シーガーの作品及び彼が取り上げてきたレパートーリーを歌った「アメリカン・フォーク・ソングブック」的な内容だそう。
ご存知の通り、ブルースは98年のピート・シーガー・トリビュート・アルバムに "We Shall Overcome"を提供しています。実はその時のセッションで、他にも何曲も録音していたそうで、それがアルバムのベースになっているのは間違いないようですが、今回新たに録音したものも加えられているらしく、現在もまだスタジオで最後の作業中と聞きました。
参加メンバーは、パティ、スージーの他、地元ニュージャージーのミュージシャンが加わっているようで、いわゆるフォーク楽器（バンジョーとかマンドリンなど）が使われているのは当然ですが、ホーン・セクションも入っているようで、ニューオーリーンズ・ジャズ的なサウンドの曲もあるとかないとか。
現時点ではほとんど他に情報が無いのですが、「Devils & Dust」に続き、今回もデュアル・ディスク（ＣＤ＋ＤＶＤ）での発売になるそうで、たぶんダニー・クリンチかトム・ジムニーの撮るドキュメンタリー映像がつくようです。

なんと今年に入ってから初めての更新です。すっかりギャップが開いてしまいました。
その理由は幾つかあるのですが、一番の理由は翻訳に時間をとられていたから。

本当は昨年中に終わらせる予定で始まったんですが、他の仕事や取材などの合間の作業ゆえに随分遅れてしまいました。年が明けてＵ２の来日公演（４/４）が発表され、絶対の締め切りが設定されてしまったので、それから必死にやって、なんとか最初の
訳稿を終えました。やれやれです。

矛盾に正面から向かい合ったところが、この本を非常に興味深くしていると思います。
日本版は向こうで近日発売されるペイパーバック版からいち早く追加の第18章
（「ライヴ８」など、05年の話をしています）も収録。３月の20日前後に書店に並ぶ予定
